Antony Abell MInstD, MILT, CIM
Antony Abell focuses his efforts on the funding and running of breakout technology and high growth ventures via his Managing Partner role at Variable Pitch Limited. As a serial entrepreneur he was one of the founders of the private company LastMile Communications Ltd where he was part of the design team of a new wireless "femtocell" technology using low power memory caching.
Prior to LastMile he set up a specialised logistics company for aid relief and primary resource extraction companies in emerging nations after a career in the British Army and two years as an Olympic coach. Following his graduation from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and nine years in the British Army, Antony's first start up was in international logistics with C-Three Logistics Ltd which he founded and ran from 1995 to 1999.
LastMile Communications Ltd was his second start up and was originally formed in 1999 before he restructured and relaunched the company upon joining it in 2000.
Antony was also one of the founders, and past Chairman, of the BandSharing Forum in the UK. The Forum was an industry body formed to enable spectrum liberalisation in concert with the UK Ministry of Defence, HM Treasury and Ofcom.
